Fire breaks out in Taksim's central building

Mustafa Özdabak – İhsan Yalçın / Istanbul, Feb 2 () - A fire broke out in Taksim’s central Odakule building early on Feb. 2, while investigations continue to reveal the reason of the fire.

The fire is thought to have started at the seventh floor of Istanbul Chamber of Industry building, with 18 floors.

The intervention of fire department teams continue, while all employers inside the building were evacuated.

The employers told they were not able to use the fire escape as it was filled with smoke, thus they have headed to the elevator to leave the building.

Initial reports urge upon a possibility of a cable fire. Smokes have been rising from the seventh floor, as well as the roof of Odakule building.
